Art classes that focus on drawing are taught with a variety of media including pencil, charcoal, oil pastel and colored pencil.  The principles of design are presented on a level appropriate for each age group as the students learn to draw from life.  For some projects students will work from a combination of photographs to create their own unique compositions.

Color and style are the main emphasis as students learn techniques in painting with acrylics and watercolors.  Students are encouraged to use my extensive library to study the works of the old masters as well as contemporary artists.  My art classes include instruction about buying art supplies so students can buy with confidence.

From block printing for the youngest students to silk screening and multi-color linoleum cuts for the more advanced students, printmaking enables students to make multiple copies of their design and share their art with others.
